A narrative review sought to evaluate eHealth HIV education interventions supporting HIV healthcare providers. Data from two dozen articles indicates that synchronous, asynchronous, and hybrid models of eHealth education are both feasible and acceptable. However, out of 19 interventions included in the review, only two -- one asynchronous and one hybrid -- used a randomized controlled design. In addition, while some of the studies demonstrated improvement in confidence and perceived quality of case management, few were intended to highlight impact. The authors note that effective eHealth education interventions demand a full understanding of the target community's capacity and requirements. Despite the apparent feasibility and potential efficacy of synchronous and asynchronous interventions, more research is needed to determine their effect on knowledge and practices.
