ACCME and American Board of Surgery Announce Collaboration to Promote High-Quality Learning for Surgeons

ACCME Highlights (01/28/21)

The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the American Board of Surgery (ABS) have teamed up to help accredited CME providers register activities for ABS Continuous Certification in the Program and Activity Reporting System. The initiative is set to launch in late February. Registered CME activities will be displayed in CME Finder search tool, while learner completion data will be sent directly from the ACCME to the ABS. The goal is to boost the number and diversity of accredited CME activities that fulfill ABS Continuous Certification requirements and simplify the process for ABS diplomates and accredited CME providers. The effort upholds the ACCME's pledge to support physicians' commitment to lifelong learning and to relieve clinicians' burdens by enabling them to meet multiple professional requirements by participating in accredited CME.
