Rockpointe and a Coalition of Associations Launches CME Webinar Series Telemedicine in Asthma: What Clinicians Need to Know

Policy and Medicine (11/13/2020) Sullivan, Thomas

Rockpointe, the American Lung Association, MedChi Maryland State Medical Society and a consortium of state medical societies accredited by Potomac Center for Medical Education and Maryland Nurses Association will host a series of live continuing medical education (CME)/continuing education (CE)-certified, maintenance of certification (MOC)-qualifying webinars on telemedicine in asthma care. The initiative, which is free of charge, aims to address Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and National Academy of Medicine competencies—including delivering patient-centered care and practicing evidence-based medicine—and Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education competencies such as foundational knowledge and essentials for practice and care. The program should enable learners to characterize the benefits and challenges of telemedicine in the asthma/allergy clinic, adopt recommended practices for appropriate integration of telemedicine into asthma patient care and evaluate the legal and regulatory guidelines and mandates for telemedicine-facilitated asthma care.
